IBM and HCLTech, a prominent global technology company, announced a partnership on July 2, 2024, to establish a Generative AI Center of Excellence (CoE) that will use the IBM watsonx AI and data platform. The CoE is dedicated to assisting global enterprises in the development of custom AI applications, the expansion of data capabilities, and the acceleration of responsible AI workflows. The initiative will leverage HCLTech’s generative AI solutions and IBM’s watsonx platform to modernize legacy applications, develop IT service management use cases, and enhance coding efficiency and skill development. HCLTech clients will also benefit from IBM’s expertise in scaling and customizing AI solutions.
HCLTech and IBM plan to train 10,000 engineers and architects in IBM's AI technologies, specifically watsonx, through the CloudSMART for IBM portfolio, which promotes continuous innovation. Stephen Smith, General Manager of Service Partners at IBM, emphasized the importance of responsible generative AI adoption, aiming to help joint clients to explore and engineer solutions tailored to their business challenges. HCLTech, with over 227,000 employees in 60 countries and $13.3 billion in revenue, partners with major industries, while IBM serves clients in over 175 countries with hybrid cloud and AI solutions.
